2013 Fall Technical Seminar
October 9-12, 2013
Hyatt Regency Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ
Thanks to our Platinum Sponsor
Letter from the Conference Committee Chair
Dear Fellow Members,
The agenda for our Fall Technical Seminar is filled with sessions which should prove both interesting and
valuable for your business! The Conference Committee has worked diligently to put together a meeting
based on the feedback that we received from surveys, calls to headquarters, as well as conversations
we have had at previous meetings. To that end, we have restructured the way we build our content,
aligning sessions to a central theme which will provide you and your Techs with information that can be
implemented immediately upon return to the office.
The theme for the 2013 Fall Technical Seminar is “Safety and Compliance”. Each session will address
topics within this theme and will provide specific and measurable solutions to the everyday issues of the
KEC business. Our speakers are all experts in their field and are prepared to help us find solutions to the
hazards we are faced with day in and day out.
Our sponsorship is growing and we have a terrific group of suppliers who will be in attendance to provide
you with the tricks and tools of the trade. The Product Training and Education portion of our meeting is
designed to not only enlighten our members as to the products currently offered by the vendors, but as a
way for them to get feedback on their products to better support our work in the field. This is an excellent
opportunity to learn and to show your appreciation of their continued support! Remember, our sponsors
help IKECA keep costs down for these shows; please be sure to visit each of them.
Finally, we are excited to host the Utah Deputy State Fire Marshal, Oliver Moore, as the first AHJ
Scholarship Recipient in IKECA! We are also excited that we already have over 20 Phoenix-area AHJs
registered to attend the Fire Authority Training and AHJ Presentation on Thursday. These sessions will be
quite engaging!
I look forward to seeing you all in Phoenix!
CONFERENCE SITE & HOTEL INFORMATION
IKECA Heads to Phoenix!
Things are different in the desert. The sky is bigger. The stars are
brighter. The sunsets stop you in your tracks. It’s a feeling that can’t be
conjured, landscaped or kindled with twinkling bulbs. John Ford knew
that. So did Frank Lloyd Wright. Come to Greater Phoenix and you’ll
understand, too. America’s sixth-largest city still has real cowboys and
rugged mountains and the kind of cactus most people see only in cartoons.
Phoenix is the gateway to the Grand Canyon, and its history is a
testament to the spirit of puebloans, ranchers, miners and visionaries.
