[12:05 PM] guus: "clustering D&D", a whole new RPG concept...
[12:05 PM] stealth111: derek: did you get my updated post about the 2 escapable
[12:05 PM] Derek: hi stealth
[12:05 PM] Derek: i did
[12:06 PM] Derek: will need to create an issue for that
[12:08 PM] stealth111: I just imported 300 users into openfire using the user service
plugin, is there ANY easier way to now sort those people into groups WITHOUT having
to manually type each user name in the groups area and clicking on add each time??
maybe a BROWSE button to select chunks of users?? or ANY other way??
[12:08 PM] guus: gato, did you know that if you add plugin database update scripts,
and the current database version is lower than the version configured in plugin.xml,
only one increment is executed? (even if there are more available).
[12:09 PM] guus: no big issue, but hey...
[12:09 PM] Guest9: Hello, I am trying to install Spark on Unbuntu linux. I basically
don't know the command to install it now that I have it untarred. Is there a command
line thing I could run to get it installed?
Here's the thread I started about it:
[12:09 PM] Gato: guus - I have no idea of that one. I will check the code now
[12:21 PM] Gato: Guus - in fact, we are using the same code for server upgrades.
plugins and server upgrade scripts are run using the same code
stack trace
[12:22 PM] nate (nate@jivesoftware.com/spark) has left the room
[12:22 PM] clp207: haha, basically, the call crashes the jvm, and that's part of the file
that get's generated
[12:22 PM] francisco:
[12:22 PM] francisco:
[12:22 PM] guus: gato: ok, nevermind, maybe it's something in my scripts.
[12:23 PM] Guest495: ques : does wildfire supports timing-out of published items ?
[12:23 PM] clp207: the file gets created i the bin dir, no error is logged in the error.log
file
[12:23 PM] jchittoda (anonymous) has joined the room
[12:24 PM] Gato: clp207 - so the process is dying. In that case which JVM version are
you using? OS version? JDBC driver version?
[12:24 PM] jchittoda: can anyone answer my ques ?
[12:24 PM] jchittoda: ques : does wildfire supports timing-out of published items ?
[12:25 PM] jchittoda: ques : does wildfire supports timing-out of published items ?
[12:25 PM] stealth111: I just imported 300 users into openfire using the user service
[12:25 PM] dan (anonymous) has left the room

[12:26 PM] Matt: stealth111 are you just re-pasting that question? heh. You could
write some database scripts to set group data but I don't think there are any other UI
options than what you're seeing
[12:26 PM] Matt: jchittoda: gato will know for sure, but if that's a part of pubsub than
we likely support it
[12:27 PM] davids (anonymous) has joined the room
[12:27 PM] jchittoda: this is not supported by XEP-0060
[12:27 PM] Matt: ok, i'm virtually certain we don't support it at the moment in that case
[12:27 PM] clp207: jvm - 1.6.0, Win XP SP2, and i'm using the oracle lite driver found
in olite40.jar for 9i lite, I believe it is a type 2 driver, if that means anything to you.... I
did try using the latest olite driver, but it wouldn't work with 9i lite
[12:28 PM] stealth111: I guess I could go start blasting around in the database and
see what damage I could do!! Maybe I would consider this a feature request at this
point.. A browse button or something to manage groups of new users easier. :)
[12:28 PM] jchittoda: XEP-0060 only says abt expiration of subscriptions
[12:28 PM] Francisco2: Guest9 - does spark open the login window?
[12:28 PM] Matt: stealth111: yes, a good feature request for sure. We definitely need
user and group browsers and some UI tweaks to make it easier to do bulk
management
[12:28 PM] jchittoda: can i create a plug-in for deleting timed-out items ?
[12:29 PM] stealth111: matt: Thx!
[12:29 PM] Matt: jchittoda: it might be possible to create a plugin to do that, but it
might be easier to try to modify the core pubsub code and get your change accepted
into core
[12:30 PM] Guest183 (anonymous) has joined the room
[12:30 PM] Guest183 (anonymous) has left the room
[12:30 PM] Gato: jchittoda - I don't think we support that feature (99% sure). We
neither have support for time-based subscriptions
[12:30 PM] jchittoda: whenever i will upgrade my wildfire then i have to change the
code again
[12:30 PM] Guest194 (anonymous) has joined the room
[12:31 PM] Matt: jchittoda: you won't need to keep making the change to the code if
you submit your new feature and it gets added to core :)
[12:31 PM] jchittoda: ok
[12:31 PM] jchittoda: where i can submit this request
[12:31 PM] jchittoda: ?
[12:32 PM] Matt: basically, if you write the code and then submit it, we'll review and
take things from there
[12:33 PM] jchittoda: sure i will update the code and send it to jive.
[12:35 PM] jchittoda: otherwise it will keep on storing the messages on the database
[12:43 PM] akrherz: hi, any thoughts on this bug: JM-1011
[12:49 PM] Guest379 (anonymous) has joined the room
[12:49 PM] Gato: jchittoda - I don't think we have a specific release that will include
pubsub but I would say that it will be a 3.* release
[12:49 PM] wroot (wroot) has left the room
[12:50 PM] Gato: jchittoda - the pubsub code has been contributed and we need to
[12:51 PM] Guest387 (anonymous) has joined the room
[12:51 PM] Guest306: can you specify a NIC card for Openfire to use? I have a server
with 2 nics and I want it to only use one
[12:52 PM] Guest306 (anonymous) has left the room
[12:52 PM] slider (anonymous) has joined the room
[12:52 PM] jchittoda: actually i want to know that smack 2.2.1 is compatible with the
wildfire 3.3.0. B'cos our complete code is using smack 2.2.1 and now our client wants
to upgrade to wildfire 3.3.0
[12:52 PM] slider: anyone here?
[12:52 PM] Gato: chrisw1229 - I don't think we have been discussing that. :) For http
binding we built an AJAX library and on top of that we built Spark web.
[12:52 PM] nate: Guest306: You can specify which ip(s) it binds to in the config
[12:52 PM] chrisw1229: thanks gato
[12:52 PM] Gato: slider - 23 people are here :)

[12:52 PM] akrherz: gato: any thoughts on JM-1011 ? sorry to keep nagging about it
[12:59 PM] akrherz: gato: yes, the "m" is capitolized in Meebo
[1:00 PM] Matt: chris: reading
[1:00 PM] starry99: Repost: Hi, just in case somebody is interested: This Groupchat is
NOT working on my osx mac with Safari but works like a champ in my CAMINO
browser! Is this a known fact/bug?
[1:00 PM] slider: it there another way to set the network interface?
[1:00 PM] Matt: chris: looks like you are totally right about the bug report. I'm filing an
issue
[1:01 PM] chrisw1229: thank you matt
[1:01 PM] Guest387: question -- what's the possibility of having multiple windows for
chat, instead of tabs
[1:02 PM] starry99_safari: hmm, so many users, so less to read, is this baby working
on my osx?
[1:02 PM] stealth111: Later all!
[1:02 PM] starry99_safari: Ah, I have to press Apple-Enter to send from Safari,
interesting...
[1:03 PM] Gato: akrherz - ok. So that is the reason and the problem has been fixed for
3.3.1. As a workaround see if you can change the default nickname when using meebo
[1:03 PM] Gato: akrherz - closing jira issue and linking it to JM-1037

[1:03 PM] jchittoda: matt - actually i want to know that smack 2.2.1 is compatible with
the wildfire 3.3.0. B'cos our complete code is using smack 2.2.1 and now our client
wants to upgrade to wildfire 3.3.0
[1:04 PM] slider: gato - is there another way to set the network interface?
[1:04 PM] akrherz: gato: thanks so much!
[1:05 PM] Gato: akrherz - no problem. glad to be of help :)
[1:05 PM] withayanda: jadestorm: thanks for getting to the bottom of the spark
broadcasting issue. i never hovered over the icon long enough to read the tooltip. i
had just assumed by the looks of the icon that it was using the broadcast plugin on
the server.
[1:05 PM] Gato: slider - are you sure you uncommented the XML?
[1:05 PM] slider: humm.... well it doesnt.. mybe a reinstall will fix it.
[1:06 PM] slider: yes I am sure...
[1:06 PM] starry99: Update: I do get "xx joined the room" and "xx left the room" but
non of the conversation into Safari....
[1:06 PM] Gato: slider - no need to reinstall. You are probably missing something
minor
[1:06 PM] slider: I program a lot and I am sure
[1:07 PM] starry99: I do get my own statements into Safari when I send it with Apple-
Enter! A pure Enter just gives me a new line in the text window ....
[1:07 PM] slider: if I disable the 2nd nic it works perfectly.....
[1:07 PM] Gato: slider - feel free to send me the file. I can give it a look. BTW, if the file
is correct then the server is not using that file but some other openfireHome folder :)
[1:07 PM] Guest387: slider -- just a shot in the dark what is your nic priority
[1:08 PM] withayanda: is there a way to archive group chats?
[1:08 PM] withayanda: (sorry if that's been asked & answered many times before.)
[1:08 PM] slider: set to auto... I tried setting the metrics but that didnt work either
