Application<br />
<strong>Furnas</strong> compact definite purpose<br />
contactors are designed for controlling<br />
air conditioning, heating, welding, data<br />
processing <strong>and</strong> refrigeration equipment.<br />
They provide reliable full voltage control<br />
of compressor motors <strong>and</strong> electric<br />
heating loads. When used with an<br />
appropriate pilot device they can provide<br />
either low voltage protection or low<br />
voltage release. These controls have<br />
been designed with a low drop out<br />
voltage making them ideal for air<br />
conditioning, heating <strong>and</strong> refrigeration<br />
applications.<br />
Construction<br />
Compact – Space saving dimensions<br />
allow for smaller panels <strong>and</strong> more wiring<br />
room.<br />
Straight Thru Wiring – Line terminals are<br />
located at the top <strong>and</strong> load terminals at<br />
the bottom. This construction eliminates<br />
looping wires around the control <strong>and</strong><br />
reduces wiring costs.<br />
Mounting – Contactors are designed for<br />
mounting on a vertical service. Side by<br />
side grouping is possible since all<br />
terminals are front accessible <strong>and</strong><br />
isolated from adjacent controls by<br />
molded barriers.<br />
Interchangeable Mounting – The<br />
combination of multiple mounting holes<br />
<strong>and</strong> slots allows these contactors to be<br />
fastened onto panels <strong>and</strong> provide<br />
interchangeable mounting with many<br />
competitive contactors.<br />
Terminals – Line <strong>and</strong> load terminals are<br />
supplied with pressure connectors. Pilot<br />
control wires attach to the line terminals<br />
by using integral auxiliary connections.<br />
