11 January; Bhilai<br />
<strong>CII</strong> Chhattisgarh HR Panel has started the initiative<br />
of ‘<strong>CII</strong> in College’ to enable young professionals to<br />
interact with the industry and professionals. Under this<br />
initiative, HR professionals and leading industrialists<br />
addressed a session on ‘Industry Expectations from Young<br />
Professionals – The HR Perspective’ at the Shankaracharya<br />
College of Engineering & Management.<br />
Workshop on IFRS<br />
29 January; Raipur<br />
The workshop on International Financial Reporting<br />
Standards enabled industrial enterprises in Raipur to<br />
know more about the IFRS, the impact of transition to<br />
IFRS, and to understand the issues and challenges of<br />
applying IFRS in Indian organisations.<br />

Partnerships with the UK<br />
18 January; Bhubaneswar<br />
A session with UK Trade & Investment, on ‘Exploring<br />
Partnership Avenues in the United Kingdom’ provided<br />
awareness on the investment potential in the UK for<br />
Indian companies. Mr. Saurabh Garg, Commissionercum-Secretary,<br />
Industries, Orissa, and Mr. Sanjay<br />
Wadvani, British Deputy High Commissioner, engaged<br />
with decision makers and top executives of companies<br />
in Orissa, for discussions on trade and investment with<br />
the UK.<br />
Session on Exploring Partnership Avenues with the UK<br />
West Bengal<br />
Workshop on Climate Change<br />
15 January: Howrah<br />
A workshop on Climate Change was organised for<br />
industry of Howrah and those engaged in climate change<br />
related developmental issues to share, discuss and learn<br />
about the extent of impact of climate change brought<br />
about by greenhouse gas emissions. The workshop<br />
also addressed the issues of how industry and business<br />
should adapt to changes in a world governed by high<br />
demand for energy and technology-driven production.<br />
Infra East<br />
21 January; Kolkata<br />
Saugata Roy, Union Minister of State for Urban Development,<br />
inaugurating Infra East<br />
Infra East provided a common ground for successful<br />
cross pollination of ideas for increasing investments<br />
in infrastructure, while ensuring a strong policy and<br />
regulatory framework backed by adequate execution<br />
capacities to ensure optimal utilization of scarce<br />
resources. Mr Saugata Roy, Union Minister of State<br />
for Urban Development, Mr Gajendra Haldea, Advisor,<br />
Planning Commission, and Mr. Prasoon Mukherjee,<br />
Chairman, Universal Success Enterprises Ltd, addressed<br />
the event.<br />
