Directory of Indigenous and related mainstream evaluation 2002-2010 Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Two year review of remote employment servicing arrangements under CDEP, IEP and JSA Year: TBD Smarter Schools National Partnerships (SSNPSs)- national evaluation Year: 2011-15 Evaluator: TBD The evaluation of the SSNPs (Improving Teacher Quality, Low Socio-economic Status School Communities, Literacy and Numeracy, and Closing the Gap elements bound by the SSNPs) will assess the extent to which outcomes have been achieved, and identify and share best practice directions. Evaluation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Action Plan Year: 2011-2014 Evaluator: TBD 1. Readiness for school 2. Engagement and connection 3. Attendance 4. Literacy and numeracy 5. Leadership, quality teaching and workforce development 6. Pathways to real post-school options Evaluation of the reformed Indigenous Employment Program Year: 2009 to 2014 Evaluator: Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Arrangements for the evaluation are still being developed. The purpose of the evaluation will be to assess the impact of the Indigenous Employment Program (IEP) on Indigenous Australians’ employment outcomes and participation in economic activities. The evaluation will attempt to determine if IEP is achieving its objectives. This includes its contribution to halving the gap by 2018 in employment outcomes between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Where possible, the evaluation will compare the performance of the reformed IEP with the previous IEP model. Findings of the evaluation will be progressively available. They will be used to inform future directions of the program as well as best practice in the operation and delivery of the program. Evaluation of Indigenous servicing under Job Services Australia Year: 2009 to 2013 Evaluator: Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations The evaluation will assess services provided and outcomes achieved for Indigenous clients under Job Services Australia, as part of the overall evaluation of Job Services Australia being undertaken from 2009 to 2013. A significant focus of the evaluation is identifying the contribution of Job Services Australia to halving the employment gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, and whether this can be isolated from the contributions of other employment initiatives for Indigenous job seekers. The evaluation will be undertaken in two phases, with Phase 1 due to be completed by the end of 2010 and the second phase completed by mid-2013. Results will be available progressively and the associated evaluation reports will be made public at the Minister’s discretion. National Partnership on Youth Attainment and Transitions Year: 2009-13 Evaluator: TBD This project will evaluate the appropriateness, effectiveness, efficiency, and governance arrangements of the National Partnership on Youth Attainment and Transitions and its elements. Formative elements will provide advice to policy makers and program managers, and summative elements will assess the extent to which the National Partnership has achieved its goals which are to: 1. achieve a national Year 12 or equivalent attainment rate of 90 per cent by 2015 2. provide an education or training entitlement to young people aged 15-24 3. better engage young people in education and training 4. assist young people aged 15-24 to make a successful transition from schooling into further education, training or employment 5. better align Commonwealth, State and Territory programs and services related to youth, careers and transitions. Evaluation of the reforms to the Job Capacity Assessment Year: 2011-13 Evaluator: TBD The evaluation will assess the effectiveness, efficiency and appropriateness of the new employment assessments. Trade Training Centres (TTCs) in schools Program Year: 2011-2013 Evaluator: TBD Activity towards the evaluation of the TTC programs will commence in 2011 with the development of the Terms of Reference for evaluation of the program over 2012-2013.
