Program Requirements<br />

Decision-Pending Status<br />

Students may enroll in OMED 600 before UMUC has received<br />

the <strong>of</strong>ficial transcript from the bachelor’s-degree-granting institution.<br />

Students must receive an admission decision before subsequent<br />

enrollments.<br />

Formats/Locations<br />

Courses in the MEd program are currently available online only.<br />

Curriculum Requirements<br />

Noncredit Course<br />

All degree-seeking students are required to complete the noncredit<br />

course UCSP 610 Library Skills for the Information Age<br />

within their first 6 credits <strong>of</strong> study.<br />

Core Courses<br />

Students must complete the following courses:<br />

Elective Courses<br />

Students must choose two courses from the following:<br />

■ OMED 690 Special Topics in Instructional Technology (3)<br />

■ Courses in the Master <strong>of</strong> Arts in Teaching; Master <strong>of</strong> Distance<br />

Education; Master <strong>of</strong> Science in computer systems management,<br />

information technology, or telecommunications management; or<br />

Master <strong>of</strong> S<strong>of</strong>tware Engineering programs<br />

The MEd program director must approve elective course selections<br />

except for OMED 690. Courses from additional program<br />

areas may be approved on a case-by-case basis.<br />
