Accounting and Information Technology (12 credits)<br />

This certificate emphasizes an understanding <strong>of</strong> how the World<br />

Wide Web and information systems affect accounting. Focus is<br />

on the development <strong>of</strong> systems and managing the risk and security<br />

related to systems. Students entering this certificate program<br />

must meet all requirements for admission to the MS in<br />

accounting and information technology program.<br />

The certificate in Financial Management in Organizations is<br />

intended for people seeking to exercise managerial responsibilities<br />

over the financial functions <strong>of</strong> their organizations. It is also<br />

helpful to general managers who wish to strengthen their<br />

knowledge <strong>of</strong> and skills in the financial management <strong>of</strong> their<br />

organizations.<br />

The certificate in Foundations for Human Resource<br />

Management is designed to serve as an introduction for managers<br />

who want a better understanding <strong>of</strong> the human resource<br />

management function. It reviews fundamental principles <strong>of</strong><br />

organizational behavior, the scope <strong>of</strong> human resource management<br />

issues, and basic legal frameworks involved in managing<br />

people. Line managers, as well as those interested in pursuing a<br />

career in human resource management, will find the information<br />

practical.<br />

Health Care Administration (18 credits)<br />

The certificate in Health Care Administration is geared toward<br />

those pr<strong>of</strong>essionals who want a specialization in health care<br />

administration but who do not desire to complete either the<br />

MS in management or MS in health care administration degree.<br />

The six courses selected by the certificate student represent the<br />

full spectrum <strong>of</strong> updated health care administration.<br />
