68. 1934 7 January The Radio Church <strong>of</strong> God (later re-named The World Tomorrow)<br />

program commences broadcasting by HWA on KORE, Portland.<br />

Plain Truth magazine commences publication in February. The lead story was "Is<br />

A World Dictator About to Appear?"<br />

From www.journal.org This is confirmed by The Church <strong>of</strong> God<br />

Publishing House form letter on the subject <strong>of</strong> HWA.<br />

“HWA is credentialed by the U.S. headquartered Salem, West Virginia Church <strong>of</strong><br />

God. His ministerial certificate is signed by A. N. Dugger and C. O. Dodd” [this<br />

must have been his 3 rd or 4 th certificate]<br />

HWA founds Radio Church <strong>of</strong> God. Plain Truth magazine published (Feb).<br />

Publishes Bulletin <strong>of</strong> the Churches <strong>of</strong> God in Oregon<br />

NB: HWA originally believed that the Germans descended from Gomer (as do<br />

many or most conservative Protestants to this day). However, some time later,<br />

probably in the late 1940s or so, he came to accept the Assyrian origin <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Germans. This could have been due to Dr Hoeh’s input.<br />

“there was a wonderful campmeeting held in Salem during the time <strong>of</strong> the Feast <strong>of</strong><br />

Pentecost, and another one at St. Joseph, Missouri in the fall <strong>of</strong> during the Feast <strong>of</strong><br />

Tabernacles. Many new and independent Sabbath-keepers were added to thet fold<br />

for the next several years, but troubles soon arose.”<br />

69. 1935 A History <strong>of</strong> the True Religion published by Dugger and Dodd<br />

Remnant Church <strong>of</strong> God founded in Perth, Western Australia around this time by<br />

pastor AH Britten. He was a former SDA pastor.<br />

“there was a blessed and success-ful campmeetng held at Jefferson, Oregon; and<br />

the fall campmeeting was held during the time <strong>of</strong> the Feast <strong>of</strong> Tabernacles at<br />

Galena, Kansas.”<br />
