52. 1918 Christian Israelite Church in UK with 7 congregations observing Sabbath and Holy<br />

Days<br />

Article “Deaconness baptised in 1918, evicted by Sunday<br />

worshipers”, 4 March WN 1985<br />

The House <strong>of</strong> God was established April 4, 1918 in Washington, DC, by Bishop R.<br />

A. R. Johnson. This group observes the sabbath and holy days.<br />

Beverly Lucile Armstrong born (9 May).<br />

53. 1919 Rupert holds a conference <strong>of</strong> Church <strong>of</strong> God sabbatarians from all over the USA.<br />

Proclaims that the Work will shortly be proclaimed throughout the world. 7 years<br />

later God raised up HWA:<br />

"the day is not far distant when the work will go in power to every child <strong>of</strong> God in<br />

the world and call the honest to the truth for this time … God has been performing<br />

a great work. It now at last looks like the time is now here for the execution <strong>of</strong><br />

the work … So now is the time to teach a whole truth to the Remnant." HWA is<br />

called into the Truth 7 years later.<br />

54. 1920 Andrew N. Dugger, publishes the famous The Bible Home Instructor.<br />

Dorothy Jane Armstrong born (7 July).<br />

55. 1921 The Church <strong>of</strong> the Little Children <strong>of</strong> Jesus Christ founded by Quincy Adams.<br />

Taught the Sabbath and Holy Days.<br />

The Harvest Field Messenger magazine launched by the Church <strong>of</strong> God<br />

(February)<br />

56. 1922 GG Rupert dies.<br />

“Prince <strong>of</strong> Ethiopia Visits. The Prince <strong>of</strong> Ethiopia, Wixzezyxard Challoughczilzise,<br />

accompanied by his secretary, Elder R.B. St. Clair, arrived at Stanberry, June 12 th ,<br />

1922, where he spoke to appreciative audiences for several nights. He was welleducated,<br />

and quite a musician … In 1922 the country kept the Sabbath as a<br />

nation, and held man tenets <strong>of</strong> faith similar with the Church <strong>of</strong> God, While here, the<br />

Prince was presented with two Bible Home Instructors, which he apparently prized<br />

highly. From Stanberry he went to Marion on his way to Chicago where he<br />

expected to leave for his country.”<br />
