Candidates‟ research projects must be based on (or<br />
related to) economic issues and problems.<br />
Issues and problems to be investigated must be<br />
approved by the teacher.<br />
A research report of 1000 – 1200 words must be<br />
submitted.<br />
The report must include qualitative or quantitative<br />
data or both and may include graphs, charts or tables.<br />
Candidates can work either in groups or individually,<br />
but independent reports must be submitted.<br />
Teachers must assess the completed work in<br />
accordance with the mark scheme provided on pages<br />
29-30 of the CXC syllabus.<br />
RESIT PROVISIONS<br />
At registration, the previous year‟s registration number must<br />
be indicated.<br />
All candidates with their previous year‟s registration<br />
numbers must be listed on the Record of Marks, if these are<br />
used.<br />

Candidates who have earned moderated marks equal<br />
to 50% or more of the total <strong>SBA</strong> marks may elect not<br />
to repeat the <strong>SBA</strong> component, provided that they<br />
rewrite the examination during the subsequent year.<br />
Candidates whose moderated marks are less than<br />
50% of the maximum <strong>SBA</strong> marks for the subject,<br />
must repeat <strong>SBA</strong> requirements at any subsequent<br />
sitting of the examination.<br />
