BANK OF CHINA (HONG KONG) 50TH FESTIVAL OF SPORT<br />
The Festival <strong>of</strong> Sport is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It is our great pleasure to join hands with the<br />
<strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> & <strong>Olympic</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>, China, to promote the message <strong>of</strong> “Sport for All” for the<br />
betterment <strong>of</strong> health <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> people, and to contribute to local sports development.<br />
<strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> has made enormous strides in sports development in the past few decades. Our elite athletes have<br />
demonstrated outstanding performance and are unleashing the <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> spirit at international sporting events. The<br />
staging <strong>of</strong> the 2008 <strong>Olympic</strong> and Paralympic Equestrian Events and the hosting <strong>of</strong> the 2009 East Asian Games further<br />
highlight that sports development in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> is encouraging community participation in sports, developing elite<br />
sports, and making <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> a major centre for international sporting events.<br />
Bank <strong>of</strong> China is the <strong>of</strong>ficial banking partner <strong>of</strong> the 2008 Beijing <strong>Olympic</strong> Games. In some 500 days, we will welcome<br />
this historical event. Therefore, increasing public interest in sports and related activities is that much more important.<br />
By bringing together the efforts <strong>of</strong> all National <strong>Sports</strong> Associations in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>, the Festival <strong>of</strong> Sport allows the<br />
public to enjoy the fun <strong>of</strong> sports and cultivates passion and interest in sports. This is indeed in line with one <strong>of</strong> the<br />
themes <strong>of</strong> the 2008 Beijing <strong>Olympic</strong>s, “People’s <strong>Olympic</strong>s”.<br />
This year also witnesses the 90th anniversary <strong>of</strong> Bank <strong>of</strong> China in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>. While continuing to provide quality<br />
banking financial services to our customers, we are committed to building a better tomorrow for <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>.<br />
I wish the Bank <strong>of</strong> China (<strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>) L (50th) Festival <strong>of</strong> Sport great success.<br />
