The following buildings are required to have their townhome painted, including refinishing of your front door. Noncompliance by September 30, 2011, will result in the Association employing a contractor to repaint the exterior of your home and billing the cost of that repainting to you (pursuant to Article VIII of the Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions). In addition, a $50.00 fine will be imposed. Check the newsletter for advertised paint contractors. Ask for discounts if all townhomes in a building are painted by the same company. Check references and hopefully some from other owners in the community. The SouthPark 2 Homeowner Association, Board of Directors, Covenant Committee and the Architectural Committee does not endorse or recommend any of the advertising contractors. Shrub Trimming The trimming of deciduous shrubs is scheduled to begin in late June and is expected to take 5-7 weeks to complete. With a wet spring and early summer, the shrubbery has thrived. All deciduous shrubs will be trimmed with the exception of those that are flowering. However, if the flowering shrubs create an issue of safe passage along a sidewalk, access or egress to a townhome or pose a safety issue, they will be trimmed. Please be patient, as jumping from townhome to townhome would delay the most efficient means of completing this large project. If homeowners do not want the landscape company to trim certain shrubs around their townhome, attach a brightly colored ribbon to the shrub(s), where it can obviously be seen. However, if the marked shrubs create an issue of safe passage along a sidewalk, access or egress to a townhome or pose a safety issue, they will be trimmed. Joy and Tipper went everywhere together. And Tipper was as well known as Joy was. Joy Kinney, the consummate Gardener, with her giant sequoia rose bushes facing the McClellan Reservoir, who taught in Littleton schools for over 25 years. She was a noted Littleton artist and potter, and her works hold places of high esteem in many lucky homes. She volunteered many hours to the Littleton Art Guild, and we often saw her working at The Depot in downtown Littleton. Joy also L-O-V-E-D playing cards. Both Joy’s good friend Randy and I spent many long hours getting our pants beat by this superior card shark. Not too long ago, Joy had a bad fall that caused great injury to her leg. For a long time, she struggled with her recovery. In addition, she lost her long-time, dear friend Dale, whom she visited at the Littleton Life Care Center every day for two years, until he passed on. Shortly afterward, Joy obtained her faithful walker, which became her companion on her long walks along the Reservoir with Tipper. When Tipper, and Joy’s cats Kliban, Smokey and Princess White Cloud passed on, we all knew a piece of Joy went with them. Just this past February, Joy moved into Assisted Living in Colorado Springs, near the home of her daughter Marilyn. Joy’s birthday is July 31st. Would you please join me in a lovely surprise we can give to Joy (if you can) to send her a card of Happy Birthday Wishes?
