Significant accomplishments under <strong>CIDG</strong> OPLAN “Mega Shoppers”:<br />

1. SEIZURE OF COUNTERFEIT SPRINGMAID PRODUCTS<br />

IN PASAY CITY<br />

• On <strong>January</strong> 28, <strong>2011</strong>, elements of AFCCD of this Group<br />

together with representative from Placel Manufacturing Company, Incorporation<br />

simultaneously implemented Search Warrant Nos. 10-17041 to 10-17068 issued<br />

by Hon. Antonio M. Eugenio Jr., Judge of RTC Branch 24, Manila against John<br />

and/or Jane Does, owners and/or occupants of stalls located at Baclaran<br />

Terminal Plaza and Baclaran Supermall, Taft Avenue corner F.B. Harrison<br />

Street, Pasay City.<br />

• The operation resulted in the seizure/confiscation of 22,041<br />

pieces of Comb and 648 pieces toothbrush of counterfeit Springmaid Products<br />

with an estimated amount of Php 340,335.00. The confiscated items were<br />

temporarily under custody of a custom bonded warehouse rented by IP owner<br />

pending court litigation.<br />

• A case for violation of Section 168 in relation to Section 170<br />

(Unfair Competition) and Section 177 in relation to Section 217 (Copyright<br />

Infringement) of RA 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the <strong>Philippine</strong>s) were<br />

filed against the alleged owners and/or occupants of aforesaid establishment.<br />

2. SEIZURE OF COUNTERFEIT MAGGI MAGIC SARAP<br />

PRODUCTS IN QUEZON CITY AND SAN ANDRES, MANILA<br />

• On <strong>January</strong> 27, <strong>2011</strong>, elements of AFCCD of this Group<br />

simultaneously implemented Search Warrant Nos. 11-17198 to 11-17203 issued<br />

by Hon. Amor E. Reyes, Executive Judge of RTC Branch 21, Manila against the<br />

following establishments:<br />

- Cula Trading located at Commonwealth Market,<br />

Quezon City;<br />

- Norma’s Store located at Commonwealth Market,<br />

Quezon City;<br />

- Stalls D-073 and D-074 located at Dagonoy<br />

Market, San Andres, Manila;<br />

- Stall D-064 located at Dagonoy Public Market,<br />

San Andres, Manila;<br />

- Stall D-001 located at Dagonoy Public Market,<br />

San Andres, Manila; and<br />

- Stall D-005 located at Dagonoy Public Market,<br />

San Andres, Manila;<br />

• The operation was conducted in an orderly manner and<br />

witnessed by the security guards, Brgy. Tanod and other<br />

witnesses/representative of Nestle <strong>Philippine</strong>s Incorporation represented by RVD<br />

Law Firm that resulted to the seizures of 12,278 pieces of Maggi Magic Sarap<br />

and 8,193 pieces of Nescafe (3 in 1) 16.5 grams with an estimated value of<br />

Php 78,000.00. The seized items were brought to Carepark Moving and Storage<br />

Warehouse, a third party bonded warehouse, located at No. 1234 Villongco<br />
