Softball Batter Up
Softball Australia sought extensive feedback from the deliverers of the programs and their feedback has been
incorporated into the updated SBU resources. Feedback from providers who have participated in the program has been
extremely positive. They have recognised the great potential of the program and the ability it has to enhance the
development and retention of our juniors into the future at the grassroots level. As a result, Softball Australia is
confident that the SBU program is now ready for a successful national rollout.
We have also been working to ensure the program will be flexible enough to meet state and association needs.
Equipment purchase for participants is now optional and will provide a less expensive entry point into the program.
Providers have also been offered a greater degree of flexibility in relation to purchasing equipment to run their
programs. This will enhance ability to successfully roll out the program to associations and clubs in the remaining states
and in the lead up to the 2013 summer season.
SBU website
The SBU website, originally launched in 2011, was redesigned in May 2012. The
new website:
• enables both participants and providers to register online
• provides a dedicated areA where providers can post up-to-date
information about their current and future SBU programs and other items
of interest
• includes more interactive games and puzzles in the Kids section
• includes a new section for coaches, offering a wide range of coaching
resources
