» One special product in this line is the newly developed
2K Classic Glow Effect. This system continues to
glow for a certain time in the dark, and is therefore ideal
for use in public areas, for example where escape routes
need to be indicated in the dark following a power failure.
Arturo brand
The synthetic resin is developed and produced by Unipro
B.V., a company of the Uzin Utz Group, in Haaksbergen
(NL). Unipro is the knowledge centre for fluid floor coatings
produced using synthetic resin.
» A completely new synthetic resin flooring concept
was to be launched onto the market at the 2011 BAU
exhibition in Munich under the new Arturo brand. The
projects relating to this new concept were therefore at
the top of the priority list for R&D in 2010. The aim of
this concept is to merge the product and design into a
unique end result. Unipro aims to develop into a specialist
not only for functional flooring, but above all for design
flooring. The floor represents an important functional
foundation of any room. The functionality is certainly
not determined only by practical aspects. The floor also
influences the atmosphere and the mood of a room in
which one lives and works.
» In addition to the already existing coverage coatings
of polyurethane and epoxy, a completely new, non-yellowing
polyurethane flooring was developed on the basis
of a technology which is completely new to Unipro:
the PU 2030. This was carried out using raw materials
which were completely new to us until recently, and
which have quite individual characteristics. This flooring
will be introduced and available in all colours by the end
of the year.
» In cooperation with JP Coatings in Würzburg, a matt,
transparent “top sealant” was developed, which is the
first coating on the market to be completely solvent-free
and offers unique colour reproduction. This product was
launched in the second half-year 2010.

achieved in many areas by the improved products, such
as with the RZ Elastic Wipe-Care, which since September
has had an optimised pH-level.
» The past research and development year concentrated
particularly on the further extension of the overall
RZ Turbo Protect concept. RZ Turbo Protect is a unique,
solvent-free 2K sealing coating for extremely long-term
protection of elastic floor coverings. It stands out clearly
from all alternatives currently on the market. The product
only has to be applied once, and the floor is then
protected against even the highest stresses. There are
also further product advantages in the area of environment
and health: the coating is water-based, solventfree
and has a neutral odour. This top product has now
been presented to all well-known floor-covering manufacturers,
tested and officially recommended. The combined
expertise of the Uzin Utz brands of Pallmann and
RZ, and the flooring expertise of the UZIN brand have
all gone in to the development of this product.
» RZ Chemie was also commissioned with the development
of new products supporting the overall “Turbo
Protect” concept. A special PU Wipe-Care, a neutral
Turbo fast basic cleaner and a surface renovation product
have all been developed around the sealing coating,
successfully rounding off the range. An odourless,
aqueous basic cleaner was also developed on the basis
of the existing formulation of the RZ basic cleaner. The
advantages of the formulation include its rapid action
and the technical characteristic of being able to remove
particularly old, metal-crosslinked care film layers more
effectively.
RZ brand
In the third year of its membership of the Uzin Utz Group,
the incorporation of the RZ laboratory into the network
of the Group was almost completed. The focus in 2010
lay in particular on the further optimisation of formulations.
The rationalised range was further improved,
including the areas of raw material selection and raw
