Electricity generation fell in January – October<br />
due to a lower demand for electricity. In general<br />
electricity generation compared to 2008<br />
fell by 1,640.5 mln kWh or 2.0%.<br />
Electricity generation went up in Zone North<br />
of Kazakhstan by 2,510.7 mln kWh (4.2%) because<br />
of Aktobe Oblast, which became a part<br />
of Zone North since the commissioning of<br />
500 kV OHTL Zhitikara – Ulke on 22 February<br />
2009, and because of the higher concentration<br />
of power plants.<br />
