Nadeem Kazmi elevated to position of Executive Director Mr. Nadeem Kazmi, Divisional Director A&D has been elevated to the position of Executive Director. He joined Siemens Pakistan as ‘Trainee Engineer’ in April ’87 in the then Power Engineering Division and has served on various important positions before becoming Divisional director A&D on 05/10/07. He has a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from NED University Karachi and MBA from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) followed by periodical executive programs from Stanford University (USA) and LUMS. Currently, he is the head of ‘Automation & Drives Division’ of Siemens Pakistan. He has achieved this distinguished position in the company through his quest for excellence, innovation, and leadership qualities. Wish you many more success and best of luck.” Siemens Pakistan wins Global Competitiveness Award Siemens Pakistan PTD M won the award of "Global competitiveness (Productivity Improvement)" awarded by PTD M Siemens Germany in the 5th PTD M Management Conference held in Berlin . There were 13 SPCs (Sales & Production Centers) worldwide as contestants and among them Business Unit Switchboards PTD M Pakistan was selected the winner. Mr.Azhar Hussain head of business unit Switchboards commenting on the award said that this is the result and reflection of great Team Work & ownership along with continuous improvement in Processes and Productivity. Business Unit Switchboards also won the award on “Best Data Quality Reporting” in 2006. As weather shapes mountains, problems shape leaders.” Zia Ul Islam Zuberi Nadeem Kazmi elected unopposed at PGBF Our Executive Director A & D, Mr. Nadeem Ali Kazmi was elected unopposed as Executive Director Pakistan German Business Forum. Mr.Kazmi is a well known figure in the social circles of the country and this election demonstrates his popularity in the business circles as well. Pakistan German Business Forum was formed on the 3rd of December 1997 with the active support and co-operation of German Ambassador to Pakistan who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the forum. The forum has more than 180 members, who constitute Corporate Members (German Origin Companies), Members (Agents of German Companies) and Associate Members (Trading Partners). Siemens Water Technologies recently teamed up with its sister company Siemens Pakistan to provide Packages Limited with a second wastewater treatment system for its new Bulleh Shah Paper Mill Project in Kasur, Pakistan. The orders consist of two circular primary clarifiers and two secondary clarifiers, as well as floating surface aerators and spray coolers for the paper company’s biological wastewater treatment facility. Siemens Pakistan will provide service and maintenance. One of Pakistan's leading manufacturers of high-quality paper, paperboard, and packaging products for the consumer industry, Packages Limited developed a new straw-based pulping technology with which it hopes to promote greater environmental sustainability in woodstrapped countries. The new paper factory is located in Kasur, about 70 km from Packages Limited’s existing plant in Lahore. The company expects the Bulleh Shah Paper Mill Project to also help improve its operating efficiency, product quality and overall environmental performance. Siemens to Support Bulleh Shah Paper Mill Factory with Wastewater Technology Part of the key to the plant’s success: its biological wastewater treatment systems. The 32-m High-Performance Rim- Flo®/Tow-Bro® secondary clarifiers, for instance, saved significant civil and concrete costs when compared with conventional clarifiers. Similarly, the Aqua-Lator® floating spray coolers served as an economic alternative to cooling towers, increasing heat transfer and lowering the temperature of the wastewater prior to secondary treatment. Mr. Baljinder Sandhu, Project Director at Packages Limited adds that his company liked dealing with a single supplier. “It was nice to have one point of contact instead of several,” he says. “It was also nice that Siemens could offer field service through its local offices for inspection of installation and maintenance training of our personnel. This minimized our cost and offered peace of mind.” Packages Limited anticipates its entire biological wastewater treatment facility will be up and running by July 2006.
