Memorial Hockey Tournament
Siemens Pakistan following its CSR policy of making
Pakistan clever, healthier and more enjoyable
sponsored the Munawar-Uz-Zaman Memorial Inter
School Hockey Tournament. The final match was played
between Ghulam e Abbas School and CDGK school
Azeem Pura Shah Faisal Town at the hockey club of
Pakistan stadium.
Director Mr.Sohail Wajahat H.Siddiqui was the chief
guest on the occasion. He distributed the prizes and
congratulated the players. Chairman of the organizing
committee hockey legend Olympian Islahuddin was
thankful to Siemens for their support to hockey in the
country and especially this tournament held in the
memory of great hockey player Munawar-Uz Zaman.

Our regional office has been busy and with their untiring efforts they have generated many success stories. Here are a few:
Punjab Beverages Faisalabad:
An order of Rs 12 Million was secured by BU ITS while another
order of Rs.5 Million was secured by Special Systems. Punjab
Beverages is a new customer for ITS & SS in Faisalabad region.

MDA WASA Multan projects:
An orders of Rs 10 Mio has been secured from MDA WASA
Multan Projects. Some other Offers from SB & A&D are in
pipeline and positive results are expected based on our
capabilities and innovativeness.
Water Supply Scheme of Mailsi-Multan:
Business Unit CIP has secured the order worth Rs.96.3 Million
and execution of work is ongoing.
Maple Leaf Cement:
An order of Rs 10.5 Million has been secured by Business Unit
IS for their plant lightings etc.
Century Paper Mills:
An order of Rs.12 Million was secured by Business Unit IS.
Can you break free

As I was passing the elephants, I suddenly
stopped, confused by the fact that these
huge creatures were being held by only a
small rope tied to their front leg. No chains,
no cages. It was obvious that the elephants
could, at anytime, break away from the
ropes they were tied to but for some reason,
they did not.
I saw a trainer near by and asked why these
beautiful, magnificent animals just stood
there and made no attempt to get away.
"Well," he said, "when they are very young
and much smaller we use the same size
rope to tie them and, at that age, it's
enough to hold them. As they grow up,
they are conditioned to believe they cannot
break away. They believe the rope can still
hold them, so they never try to break free."
DHA:
Letter of intent has been received from DHA for their G-
extension project. The value is Rs. 45 Million.
Sunder Industrial Estate:
An order for Rs. 138.9 Mio Grid station has been obtained by
HSS. Based on our capabilities and customer trust we are
hopeful of also getting business for upcoming treatment plants.
Pak Arab Fertilizer:
An Order of Rs. 7.1 Million received by CIP. This is the first order
by Process automation in fertilizer sector.
GEPCO Wazirabad road 132kV project:
Siemens has successfully commissioned and energized a turnkey
132KV Substation Project within the delivery time. This was
the first 132KV Project, Siemens has executed in DISCOs.
Bahria Town Lahore and Rawalpindi:
A few years back, Siemens delivered a 132 kV Substation for
Bahria Town, Islamabad. Having full confidence in our quality
and reliable performance, the client has ordered two more
substations on Siemens for Bahria Towns in Lahore and
Rawalpindi.
I was amazed. These animals could at any
time break free from their bonds but
because they believed they couldn't, they
were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go
through life hanging onto a belief that we
cannot do something, simply because we
failed at it once before?
