Traffic enforcement category includes traffic direction <strong>and</strong> traffic control. Participation<br />

in a 911 emergency telephone system is defined as the capability of the agency te<br />

dispatch a unit directly as a resu~ of a call to 911.<br />

Codes for type of 911 system are as follows:<br />

E Enhanced/exp<strong>and</strong>ed 911 system<br />

R Regular 911 system<br />

- Agency does not participate in a 911 system.<br />

Lack of participation in a 911 system by an agency does not necessarily mean<br />

that citizens under its jurisidiction had no 911 service because another agency<br />

may have provided it. Lockup facility category includes any temporary holding<br />

or lockup facility operated separately from a jail. Agencies with a zero under<br />

total capacity operated no such facilfties.<br />
