PDI of the South provides
in-home non-medical
care to persons with
various illnesses and disabilities.
Our services
allow these individuals to
remain independent in
their own homes through
the utilization of various
state programs and insurance
companies.
Our services include all
areas of daily living such
as bathing, grooming and
dressing, meal preparation,
light housekeeping,
etc. Other specialized
services include transportation
to and from
medical appointments,
post-surgical care, medication
management as well
as leisure activities such as
shopping and Bingo.
We have provided services
for many years to residents
of Lake Charles and
have a long standing reputation
of compassion and
going the extra mile for
our consumers.
PDI was founded in
1987 to serve the needs of
individuals with specific
home care needs that
could not be met through
traditional home health
services. We began providing
services to the Lake
Area in 1992 through the
Louisiana Medicaid
Waiver program.
“Our staff is always
professional and responds
quickly to the needs of our
consumers,” Owner/
Administrator Margaret
McCloskey said. “Our
consumers and staff are
always treated like family.
The level of dedication by
our administrative staff
cannot be found in any
other agency.”
Other key employees
are Tracie Poullard, vice
president of operations,
Gwen Levings, director of
Medicaid services and
Peggy Kelley, program
development director.
At PDI, our consumers
are often remarking that
having us have eased the
minds of themselves and
their families knowing
their loved ones are being
so well taken care of. Our
presence allows both the
consumers and their families
to focus on other areas
of their lives knowing the
care they need is there
whenever they need it.
McCloskey says that
consumer satisfaction is
her number one priority.
“In all that we do, we
keep in mind that our consumers
have allowed us
into their home and have
placed an enormous level
of trust on our agency,”
McCloskey said. “It is our
responsibility to live up to
that trust and ensure they
receive the best possible
care and service from our
agency at all times. Our
staff will do whatever it
takes to see that our consumers
are satisfied with
their services.”
