Myrtis Mueller began a career
with South Central Bell in 1955.
After 20 years and many company/management
changes, she
was ready for a more challenging
career. Myrtis became interested
in Real Estate and
received her salesperson’s
license in 1975. After three
years as a part time agent, she
resigned from 23 years of service
with the Phone Company to
further her Real Estate career.
She has always been a self motivator.
Clients have referred to
her as “The Lady that matches
the Family with the Home”. As
a full time agent, Myrtis
received numerous sales awards
and retained the honor of “Top
Producer” with the Southwest
Louisiana Association of
Realtors. This was the era
before pagers, cell phones, e-
mail and fax machines.
Myrtis received her Broker’s
license in 1985 and worked as
an Associate Broker until
January, 1987, when Myrtis
Mueller Realty was established.
She opened her office with her
daughter, Sheila and son, Jeff in
one of the oldest homes in Moss
Bluff. In 1993, her youngest
daughter, Gina received her
license and joined the business.
During the past 22 years,
Myrtis Mueller Realty has maintained
the status of a family
business. With Sheila Peterson
as the Broker, Gina Mueller as
the Processor/Office Assistant
and Jeff Pitre as the Office’s Top
Producer, Myrtis keeps her
hands on the business but now
has more time to spend with the
grandkids. In 2005, the business
moved across the street from its
original location. The new office
gives the company opportunity
for future expansion.
Currently, everyone at Myrtis
Mueller Realty is a licensed
agent – Pat Browning, Donna
Reed, Connie Stutes and
Rhonda Reeves, along with
Myrtis, Sheila, Gina, and Jeff.
This provides a benefit over the
company’s competitors since
employees in a real estate office
are limited with their tasks.

days a year, as they were even
during the hurricane evacuations
of 2005 and 2008. They are

through-out the United States
and service all of Southwest
Louisiana.
Myrtis’ family was raised in
this area, so this has always
been home for them. They have
witnessed first hand, the
changes in Southwest Louisiana
- expanding of its schools,
development of subdivisions
and growth of businesses as
well as the challenges of the real
estate industry. Myrtis’ daughters
and son take pride in their
Mom’s accomplishments and
strive to continue her legacy of
treating clients like they would
want to be treated. The thriving
