HELPING OTHERS
REACH THEIR DREAMS IS
WHAT WE ENJOY MOST.
Life’s richest rewards come from helping those around us live
their dreams. Maybe it means lending a hand to a friend.
Supporting an organization devoted to the community. Or
simply pitching in when a little extra help is needed.
Whatever the dream, whoever the dreamer, life’s better for all
of us when we can help make things possible when they might
not have been before.
Senior Branch
Office Administrator
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2009
I have two wonderful
employees. First is Senior
Branch Office
Administrator Alicia
Thibodeaux of Lake
Charles, LA. She has been
with our office and
Edward Jones for 11
years.
She is married to
Gregory Thibodeaux, and
they have two children,
Gabriel and Amelia. She
has a BS degree from LSU
in Social Work and is
originally from Crowley,
LA. She currently gives
back to our community
by serving on the
Allocation and Review
Committee for the SWLA
United Way. She has been
a key to customer service
with her knowledge and
expertise in the financial
services industry.
Second is Senior Branch
Office Administrator
Jeanne Cryer of Sulphur,
LA. She has been with
our office and Edward
Jones for 7 years. She is
originally from Long
Island, NY, and brings
over 16 years of banking
experience to our office.
She is married to Robert
Cryer and they have two
children, Christina and
Anthony. Currently she
gives back to our community
with involvement in
Girls Scout Troop 2034 in
Sulphur since 2004 and is
active with the American
Cancer Society’s “Making
strides against breast cancer
walk.” She is a key to
our customer service with
her wide knowledge of
the banking industry.
I’m very proud of these
ladies, and they are my
partners in business.
They have achieved a
great deal within the
Edward Jones community
as well by both becoming
limited partners with our
firm. Edward Jones is
owned by its employee’s
and is not a publicly traded
company.
Vickie Wicks, Financial
Advisor, is married to
Michael Wicks of Lake
Charles, and they have
one son Michael
Donovan Wicks who
attends McNeese State
University. She started in
the financial services
industry in 1991 as an
investment representative
for a local bank (formerly
Premier Bank). She
opened her Edward Jones
ADVERTISING SECTION
Branch in June of 1995. In
1998 she became a limited
partner with Edward
Jones and in 2001 the
Regional Leader for
SWLA and SE Texas
financial advisors.
Growth has transformed
Edward Jones from a
regional firm of only 304
offices in 1980 to a
national and global presence.
Currently her
region has 52 financial
advisors, and they plan
to continue growing their
financial advisors as the
population grows in
these areas. In 2006
Wicks was named
General Partner. She is
currently on the Board of
Directors for the SWLA
United Way, serving as
Chairman 2007-2008. She
also serves on the Family
and Youth Counseling
Foundation Board and is
a member of the Better
Business Bureau. She has
been a Rotarian for 15
years with the Greater
Lake Charles Rotary Club
and served as its president
in 2001. Vickie is a
McNeese State University
graduate with a BA in
Liberal Arts and holds
the AAMS designation.
She is a member of Our
Lady Queen of Heaven
Catholic Church. Vickie
has been quoted in the
book, “The Girls’ Guide
to Power and Success,”
written by Susan Wilson
Solovic. She is on page
15, which mentions her
positive attitude philosophy
and her business
success in Lake Charles,
LA. She can be heard on
LA 92.9 every afternoon
for the market update
and on Friday mornings
on KAOK AM radio with
market updates on the
Joe & Fran Cironi program,
“Random
Thoughts While
Shaving.”
■ EDWARD JONES - VICKIE WICKS
It’s about serving others
Vickie V. Wicks,
Financial Advisor
609 W. Prien Lake
Road
Lake Charles, LA 70601
the individual is of
utmost importance. This
is my passion, serving
others. We provide quality,
long-term investment
opportunities that include
a broad mix of municipal,
government and corporate
bonds; mutual funds;
common stocks; and tax
advantaged securities.
Our firm was founded in
1922 by Edward D. Jones,
Sr. After working a rural
territory in Missouri and
Illinois, Ted Jones, the son
of our founder, positiioned
the company in the
increasingly competitive
marketplace as a specialist
in providing investment
advice to rural
Americans. In the 1970’s,
though, the firm realized
that the appeal of
Edward Jones was not
based on geography.
Rather, the firm appeals
to a certain kind of
investor anywhere. In the
1980’s, the firm began
expanding into metropolitan
areas, starting with
Chicago and Dallas.
Edward Jones now conducts
the majority of its
business in urban and
suburban markets.
Although the firms’s size
has changed, its set of
business principles
retains the same focus.
First, the firm serves just
one client: the serious
long term investor.
Second, the firm’s investment
philosophy emphasizes
quality and a wellbalanced
portfolio, and
lastly, it believes personal
relationships are key.
Thus, the Edward Jones
brand appeals to a careful
and considering kind of
investor who prefers a
long-term relationship
with his or her financial
services firm. We are
proud to serve SWLA and
thank all of our customers
in SWLA for
doing business with
Edward Jones.
