Proel presented the latest addition to its Flash
series of compact loudspeakers. Flash 5 is
the most compact model in the series. Active
and passive models are available. It features a
100 W Class D bi-amplification module and a
precision-designed crossover filter. Flash 5 is
designed for short and mid-range applications,
such as for use with a PC, or as a stage monitor.

Soundcraft expanded its Si Compact
range with the release of the Si
Compact 32. The new mixer is capable
of delivering 40 inputs to mix, while
maintaining the DSP functionality
of its predecessors. The Si Compact
features 14 main busses, four matrix
buses, four dedicated FX buses, four
full-time Lexicon effects engines,
and a range of option cards to
interface with other systems. Like
other Si Compact models, it can
connect via MADI to the new Compact Stagebox.
Also on offer from Soundcraft was VM2, a new product developed alongside AKG to enable wireless mic monitoring
in the mixer. It monitors the status of any HARMAN HiQnet compatible AKG radio mic, directly from the surface of a
Soundcraft Vi Series console.

Radial Engineering displayed the new Q3 module,
a three-band induction coil EQ designed
to fit 500 series racks such as the Radial
Workhorse. It features four easy to use controls;
a top end boost circuit, a mid-range cut circuit, a
bass boost circuit, and a gain make-up control
to offset the typical signal loss that occurs when
using passive EQ designs.

Portico and Portico II series modules, the new
Portico II Stereo Buss Processor, and the 5088
Fully Discrete Mixer. The Portico II Stereo Buss
Processor is a stereo compressor and mastering
limiter with high-voltage discrete signal paths
and a new stereo field editor design with bandfiltered
width and depth.

Sennheiser showcased its newly developed
evolution wireless ew100 G3-1G8 series microphone
systems. They are the first wireless
systems to transmit signals in the 1800 MHz
frequency band, which has been approved in
several European countries for wireless audio
transmission. Also on show was the company’s
first side-address large-diaphragm microphone,
