such as hill descent assist, ABS with<br />
automatic off-road detection <strong>and</strong> an<br />
Electronic Stability Programme that<br />
includes an off-road mode.<br />
Hill descent assist<br />
Available as st<strong>and</strong>ard in the <strong>Audi</strong><br />
<strong>Q5</strong>, hill descent assist automatically<br />
maintains the speed set by the driver<br />
on steep descents <strong>and</strong> on any surface<br />
(up to 19mph). This makes negotiating<br />
descents far more straightforward<br />
<strong>and</strong> substantially enhances stability.<br />
Hill descent assist is activated <strong>and</strong><br />
deactivated using a separate button.<br />
ESP off-road mode<br />
<strong>The</strong> Electronic Stability Programme<br />
in the <strong>Audi</strong> <strong>Q5</strong> features a special offroad<br />
mode which can be controlled<br />
by a switch. This reprograms the ESP<br />
system, traction control <strong>and</strong> anti-lock<br />
braking system to adapt them to the<br />
driving conditions encountered in<br />
off-road terrain, such as s<strong>and</strong>, gravel<br />
or mud. This leads to good traction<br />
in all conditions, a more exciting<br />
drive <strong>and</strong> great h<strong>and</strong>ling even on<br />
unpredictable surfaces.<br />
