SG & HT January & February Ministry Lists can be
found at all entrances. Please take one. At times things
come up very suddenly (illness, bad weather) and you
may not have time to find a replacement. To help each
other out, if you are at Mass and notice an open ministry
spot—please fill in. Thank you.
Altar Server Training: At Holy Trinity on Saturday,
January 12, 2013 from 10 am to Noon. Father Pat, along
with a few helpers will be conducting a server
training class. Lunch will be provided. Come
and learn how to assist your priest in this
much needed position. A sign up sheet is in
the back of church to help us plan the lunch.

St. Nazianz Senior Citizens next meeting is January
10th. Make reservations by calling 773-2446 before
Wednesday, January 9th. Blood Pressures will be taken.

SG Social Concerns Group is looking to update their
nursing home schedule. Due to privacy laws, we cannot
add a parishioners name to the list unless a family member
contacts us. Please check the lists on the bulletin
boards and if you would like to add a family member
please call the parish office. Thank you.
Please join The Most Reverend David Ricken at the Diocesan
Respect Life Masses, which will be held on Friday,
January 18th at 7pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in
Green Bay and Tuesday, January 22nd at 7pm at St. Bernadette
Church in Appleton. A rosary will be prayed before
each Liturgy. Interpreters for the deaf will be present

Is the colder weather keeping you indoors more
often? Move your walking routine to the school gym.
Walkers are welcome on any school day from 7:30-
8:30 or 12:30-1:30. These hours are being reserved
to provide you a safe environment for your workout.
All walkers must sign in and out at the school office.
The school facilities are available for parish and
community use. However, all events, activities, and
meetings must be scheduled in advance through the
school office. Please call (773-2530) or e-mail
(stgregs100@tds.net) to verify availability. A small
rental fee may apply. Thank you in advance for your
consideration.

Fr. Pat’s Corner . . .
They offered gifts to the new born King:
And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them,
until it came and stopped over the place where the child was….
and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother.
They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened
their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and
myrrh..” (Matthew 2:9b-11)
This Sunday’s Gospel shows us Jesus as an innocent and
trusting child.
When adults are confronted by the birth of one so innocent,
they naturally ponder the wonder of life and the purity of the
truth a child reveals to us. The innocence and trust of a new
born child can force us to re-imagine ourselves in the light of
who we have allowed ourselves to become.
A child trusts because he must! To betray the trust of a child
is to violate truth itself. When we approach a trusting child
we can feel the weight of our own sins. If our lives have become
a sham to cover up a life of hatred and anger we are
faced with the truth of our lives and who we have become.
The realization of that evil causes great shame and selfhatred.
We don’t even like ourselves. We know inside that
we are wrong to pretend to be a loving person to a child.
For when that child senses our falseness they might cry or
fear our approach.
How did Jesus receive the Wise Men?
How would He receive us – today?
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become {trust} like a
children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 18:3)
If our lives have become a sham – we need to reinvent ourselves
by asking for the help of one powerful enough to help
– JESUS the King!
Perhaps, we too, should join the Three Kings and fall prostrate
before the Lord of all Creation (in the Child Jesus) to
beg for forgiveness.
Jesus offers this forgiveness in The Sacrament of Reconciliation!
Reinvent yourself! …Go to Confession this week. Jesus
will help you!
