Creating a static IGMP group<br />

To configure a physical port to be a permanent (static) member of an IGMP group, enter the<br />

following commands.<br />

<strong>Brocade</strong>(config)# interface ethernet 1/5<br />

<strong>Brocade</strong>(config-if-e1000-1/5)# ip igmp static-group 224.10.1.1<br />

Syntax: [no] ip igmp static-group ip-address<br />

Enter the IP address of the static IGMP group for ip-address.<br />

To configure a virtual port to be a permanent (static) member of an IGMP group, enter the following<br />

commands.<br />

<strong>Brocade</strong>(config)# interface ve 10<br />

<strong>Brocade</strong>(config-vif-10)# ip igmp static-group 224.10.1.1 ethernet 1/5<br />

Syntax: [no] ip igmp static-group ip-address ethernet slot-number/port-number<br />

Enter the IP address of the static IGMP group for ip-address.<br />

Enter the ID of the physical port of the VLAN that will be a member of the group for ethernet<br />

slot-number/port-number.<br />

NOTE<br />

IGMPv3 does not support static IGMP group members.<br />

NOTE<br />

Static IGMP groups are supported only in Layer 3 mode.<br />

Setting the query interval<br />

The IGMP query interval period defines how often a switch will query an interface for group<br />

membership. Possible values are 2-3600 seconds and the default value is 125 seconds, but the<br />

value you enter must be a little more than twice the group membership time.<br />

To modify the default value for the IGMP query interval, enter the following.<br />

<strong>Brocade</strong>(config)# ip igmp query-interval 120<br />

Syntax: [no] ip igmp query-interval 2-3600<br />

The interval must be a little more than two times the group membership time.<br />

Setting the group membership time<br />

Group membership time defines how long a group will remain active on an interface in the absence<br />

of a group report. Possible values are from 5 – 26000 seconds and the default value is 260<br />

seconds.<br />

To define an IGMP membership time of 240 seconds, enter the following.<br />

<strong>Brocade</strong>(config)# ip igmp group-membership-time 240<br />
