Undergraduate students, graduate students and post‐doctoral students from around the world competed for these prestigious SLAS awards by authoring poster presentations that received top honors at 2012 events presented by allied scientific organizations, including the Institute of Food Technologists (United States), European Laboratory Robotics Interest Group (U.K.) and MipTec (Switzerland). “Continued advancement of the laboratory science and technology field depends on new technologies, new ideas and new thought leaders,” says SLAS President Dave Dorsett. “The SLAS Young Scientist Awards Program is one more example of how SLAS is working to reach out and develop the next generation of talent. Other examples include the SLAS Tony B.
