SCOUTS CANADA<br />
Ages 5 to 17<br />
Description<br />
Interested in fun outdoor activities and want to make new friends?<br />
You want to have a great time and learn new skills? Scouts Canada<br />
offers all boys and girls the opportunity to live some great adventures<br />
and many outdoors activities. Rewarding positions are also available<br />
for interested adults who may want to help as lea<strong>de</strong>rs – full training is<br />
given. We’re ready - all we need is you!<br />
• BEAVERS - 5, 6 and 7 years old<br />
This category is associated with fun activities. The program has been<br />
<strong>de</strong>signed with the kids’ expectations in mind. It is a simple and flexible<br />
program, <strong>de</strong>riving its theme from the beaver and the beaver colony. It<br />
aims at instilling notions of sharing and learning within a group, while<br />
stressing strong links with nature. The program offers many outdoors<br />
activities and outings.<br />
• CUBS - 8, 9 and 10 years old<br />
This program is geared towards the needs of 8 to 10 year old<br />
children. We hope to awaken the youth's curiosity level and meet<br />
their need for adventure through outdoor activities. This consists<br />
of a wi<strong>de</strong> variety of activities including camping, games, arts and<br />
crafts, music, stories, theatre, outdoor activities and other activities<br />
earning them stars and badges.<br />
• SCOUTS - 11 to 14 years old<br />
The scout program is ma<strong>de</strong> for outdoor life and activities associated<br />
with nature and the environment. The program offers a wi<strong>de</strong><br />
spectrum of activities : in 2009, we went rock climbing, kayaking,<br />
canoeing, skiing, geocaching and much more…. and we had a blast!<br />
• VENTURES – 14 to 17 years old<br />
We offer your teenager the possibility to join a Venturer group which<br />
offers a much more challenging program for the ol<strong>de</strong>r youth. If<br />
registration numbers are sufficient, you may even be able to start as<br />
early as September.<br />

Description<br />
Guiding provi<strong>de</strong>s opportunities for fun, friendship<br />
and adventures. Through our different imaginative<br />
and innovative activity choices, girls are encouraged<br />
to reach their potential, be in<strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>nt, confi<strong>de</strong>nt<br />
and caring. We empower them to give lea<strong>de</strong>rship and<br />
<strong>de</strong>velop their <strong>de</strong>cision-making and life skills. Guiding<br />
helps them connect with their community and with the<br />
wi<strong>de</strong>r world.<br />
In 2010, Girl Gui<strong>de</strong>s of Canada will celebrate its 100 th<br />
anniversary of giving girls the chance to be the best<br />
they can be. We have a lot of exciting events planned to<br />
mark our 100th anniversary.<br />
