Laurence Castonguay, gymnast<br />

Her results during the season Laurence Castonguay a place on<br />

Team Quebec which competed in the Eastern Canadian Gymnastics<br />

Championships held last May in Mississauga, Ontario. At this<br />

competition, she took the 4th position twice (on vault and on bars),<br />

came in 8th in the floor exercices and finished 6th over all. Laurence,<br />

her family and the Gymini Club are very proud of her results.<br />

On Friday July 2, 2010, the <strong>Saint</strong>-<strong>Lazare</strong> day camp held its first<br />

blood donor clinic. The youngsters and their group lea<strong>de</strong>rs<br />

prepared for this important event<br />

during the first week of camp and<br />

were able to attract 139 donors on a<br />

very hot day right between Canada<br />

Day and the weekend. Good work!<br />

You were able to attract 27 first-time<br />

givers and you probably helped more<br />

than 550 people!<br />

Athletic Honor Roll<br />

Policy supporting individual, cultural and sport excellence<br />

In May 2010, the Town adopted its policy supporting individual, cultural and sport excellence.<br />

The aim of this policy is to support youngsters 17 years old and un<strong>de</strong>r who participate in:<br />

1) a national or international competition in a sport recognized by Canadian and Quebec sports fe<strong>de</strong>rations<br />

2) a national or international cultural competition, as an individual, after having successfully competed in the qualifying event<br />

by offering them $200 in financial assistance.<br />

To apply for financial assistance, young <strong>Saint</strong>-<strong>Lazare</strong> resi<strong>de</strong>nts must send an explanatory document which inclu<strong>de</strong>s all the information pertaining<br />

to the competition to Chantal Latreille, assistant director of the Recreation Department: by e-mail at clatreille@ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca, by mail<br />

at 1301 Rue du Bois, <strong>Saint</strong>-<strong>Lazare</strong>, QC J7T 3E6 or in person.<br />
