providing transport for the property of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>;<br />
providing reas<strong>on</strong>able financial assistance to the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>;<br />
permitting any pers<strong>on</strong> involved in the administrati<strong>on</strong> of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>protecti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> programme to use an<br />
assumed name in carrying out his or her duties and to have documentati<strong>on</strong> supporting those assumed<br />
names;<br />
doing any other thing that the [Commissi<strong>on</strong>er of Police] c<strong>on</strong>siders necessary to ensure the safety of the<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>;<br />
taking any of the steps listed in subsecti<strong>on</strong>s (a) to (g), in respect of a foreign <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> present in [name of<br />
State] pursuant to an agreement or arrangement between [name of State] and a foreign State relating to<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>protecti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g>.<br />
(3) The [Commissi<strong>on</strong>er of Police] shall not obtain documentati<strong>on</strong> for a <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> participating in the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>protecti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
programme that represents that the participant has a qualificati<strong>on</strong> that he or she does not have, or is entitled to a<br />
benefit that he or she is not entitled to;<br />
4. Inclusi<strong>on</strong> of a <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> in the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>protecti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> programme<br />
(1) Subject to any directi<strong>on</strong> of the Minister pursuant to subsecti<strong>on</strong> 12 (3), the [Commissi<strong>on</strong>er of Police] shall be<br />
resp<strong>on</strong>sible for deciding whether to include a <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> in a <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>protecti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> programme.<br />
(2) In deciding whether to include a <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> in the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>protecti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> programme, the [Commissi<strong>on</strong>er of Police] shall<br />
have regard to:<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
(c)<br />
(d)<br />
(e)<br />
(f)<br />
(g)<br />
the seriousness of the offence to which the statement or evidence of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> relates;<br />
the nature and importance of that statement or evidence;<br />
the nature of the perceived danger to the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>;<br />
the nature of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>’s relati<strong>on</strong>ship to any other <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> being assessed for inclusi<strong>on</strong> in the<br />
programme;<br />
the results of any psychological or psychiatric examinati<strong>on</strong> or evaluati<strong>on</strong> of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>ducted to<br />
determine his or her suitability for inclusi<strong>on</strong> in the programme;<br />
whether there are viable alternative methods of protecting the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>; and<br />
whether the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> has a criminal record, particularly in respect of violent crime, which indicates a risk to<br />
the public if he or she is included in the programme.<br />
(3) A <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> shall not be included in a <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>protecti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> programme unless the <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>, or a pers<strong>on</strong> legally<br />
resp<strong>on</strong>sible for the pers<strong>on</strong>, agrees in writing to be included in the programme.<br />
5. Court orders protecting <str<strong>on</strong>g>witness</str<strong>on</strong>g>es from identificati<strong>on</strong><br />
(1) For the purposes of this Act, the [Commissi<strong>on</strong>er of Police] may apply to the [Court] for an order authorizing a<br />
specified pers<strong>on</strong> or a pers<strong>on</strong> of a specified class or descripti<strong>on</strong> of pers<strong>on</strong>s:
