accommodations, scholarships, cultural and social issues, international<br />

DSE<br />

The Dossier Social Etudiant (Stu<strong>de</strong>nt Social File) allows the stu<strong>de</strong>nt<br />

to request - with the same file - a scholarship from the Higher<br />

Education and Research and/or accommodations from<br />

the CROUS. You must register on the Internet between the<br />

15th January and the 30th April.<br />

All courses of the LMD system are divi<strong>de</strong>d<br />

into a domain (or study field). Every domain<br />

is subdivi<strong>de</strong>d into disciplines (“Mention“).<br />

ELEMENTS CONSTITUTIFS (EC)<br />

Les éléments Constitutifs are the principals<br />

subjects of an Unité d’Enseignement.<br />

MENTION (Study disciplines)<br />

Every faculty has several disciplines<br />

(“Mentions“) which are composed of major<br />

themes (Unité d’Enseignement or “UE“).<br />

UNITE D‘ENSEIGNEMENT (UE)<br />

The “Unités d‘Enseignement“ are the major<br />

themes of a Mention. Normally you have 6<br />

UE in an aca<strong>de</strong>mic year (L1, L2, etc.). Each UE<br />

is composed of several EC.<br />
