After you have opened a bank account you
will get a check book, a bank card and a RIB.
A RIB is a slip of paper that shows your
bank account details (bank code, branch
sortcode, account number, etc.) It‘s often
required for financial operations (accomodation,
electricity, social security)
Check books are, in the majority of the cases,
free of charge, as well as bank cards
(only for students). Transfers between
different French banks are not free either:
fees range between 0,60 € and 4 €. Checks
present a good alternative; they are a
very popular method in France to pay for the
day - to - day acquisitions, for the rent or
for the bills. If you spend more than you have
in your account, you must pay an overdraft
fee, also called “agio” that is usually very
high. The withdrawal of money at the ATMs
of other bank is not free.
In order to open a bank account you have to
present: an attestation of residence
in France (invoice, rent receipt, housing
certificate), an identity card or a passport, a
student ID or a pre - enrollment certificate
from a French university or high - school
and the residence permit for the non -
European students.

Transport - CITURA
Public transport (bus and tram) in the
city is run by the company Citura, 6, rue
Chanzy in Reims (near the bus and
tram stop “Opéra”)

Buses and trams generally circulate from
5:30 till midnight. You can buy and reload
your tickets and cards at the CITURA
agency and at the ticket machines of the
tram stations.
The ONE - WAY TICKET and the BOOK OF
TWO TICKETS can be also bought from the
bus or tram-driver. The different cards can
be bought and reloaded at the CITURA
agency. The card CAMPUS and HEBDO can
be also bought at the ticket machines
of the tram stations.
The CITURA has the following offer for
students:
Yearly card “CAMPUS MOSAIQUE” for
229,50 €
Monthly card “CAMPUS” for 27 €
The weekly card “CAMPUS HEBDO”
for 9 €
One - way ticket for 1,50 € (you can
reload it four times for 1,30 €)
Book of two tickets for 2,30 €
10 tickets for 10 €
Daily card for 3,20 €.
A one - way ticket is valid for one hour; if you
change the line you have to punch it on the
