Excellence Centre of Animal and Human Ecology and Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences Presov
University in Presov, Slovak Republic invite you to a scientific conference with international participation
„New Trends in the Biological and Ecological Research”, which will take place in Grand Hotel Kempinski
High Tatras in Strbske pleso, Slovak Republic, on November 08 – 10, 2012.
The scientific event will be held under the auspices of the Rector of Presov University Prof. Dr. Rene
Matlovic and the Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences of University of Presov Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Nadezda Krajcova. The conference will be held as one of many events organized in regard to the
occasion of the 15th anniversary of Presov University in Presov.
The aim of the conference
The conference will bring together experts engaged in research and development of science in the fields
of biology and ecology. Scientific results of the project „Completion of Excellence Centre of animal and
human ecology with emphasis on improving the quality of scientific research – the 2nd stage“ (ITMS
26220120041) will also be presented.
The cultural program and excursions
Thursday, 8.11.2012 at 19.00: Rout with cultural program in Grand Hotal Kempinski High Tatras.
Saturday, 10.11.2012: Vocational excursion - participants will visit Agrokarpaty Plavnica Ltd. - company,
which deals with growing, harvesting and post-harvesting processing of medicinal plants and herbal tea
production. Excursion will continue with visit to monastery Červený Kláštor. The excursion program includes
a lunch with degustation of Slovak food specialities. The fee is 25€ (does not apply to invited guests).
Conference languages
The official languages ​of the conference are: Slovak, Czech and English.
Accommodation
Discount prices for accommodation for the conference participants will be offered in agreement with the
management of Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras (single Deluxe room for € 110.00 per night and double
Deluxe room for € 130.00 per night, including breakfast and entry to Zion Spa and Fitness Centre). The
organizing committee will carry out accommodation booking according to the interest of participants.
Registration
Registration is possible until the beginning of the conference and on site. It is required to provide notice
of payment issued by your bank during the registration. Active participation is not possible anymore.
Conference fees
Conference fee includes: coffee, tea and refreshments during breaks and lunch for two days, book of
abstracts and publishing of full text articles. Conference fees: Participants – 130€, Students – 65€.

Oral presentation
Plenary lectures and presentations of special guests will be 30 minutes in duration. Short oral presentations
will be organized in two parallel sections with time limited to 15 min.
Poster
Posters can be put up at the time of registration. The maximum size of the posters is 100 ×130 cm.
Publication
Manuscripts for submitting in peer-reviewed proceedings should be written in English following the
instructions bellow and submitted during the registration at the conference venue.
