caregivers with poverty<br />

alleviation <strong>programmes</strong><br />

<strong>and</strong> social grants;<br />

providing material<br />

assistance;<br />

ensuring that children<br />

are placed in appropriate<br />

alternative care through<br />

appropriate referrals;<br />

counselling to address<br />

the psychological needs<br />

of children <strong>and</strong> their<br />

families, especially prior<br />

to the death of a family<br />

member <strong>and</strong> after;<br />

capacity building to<br />

<strong>vulnerable</strong> children,<br />

families <strong>and</strong> caregivers;<br />

establishing community<br />

childcare <strong>for</strong>ums <strong>and</strong><br />

multi-purpose centres.<br />

residential care;<br />

HIV testing;<br />

traditional medicine;<br />

treatment support;<br />

pre- <strong>and</strong> post-counselling;<br />

ongoing counselling;<br />

family support;<br />

support groups;<br />

TB/Dots training;<br />

HIV/AIDS training;<br />

VCT training;<br />

holistic care training;<br />

food <strong>and</strong> nutritional<br />

support in the <strong>for</strong>m of<br />

food parcels.<br />
