children must be treated<br />

in separate facilities <strong>and</strong><br />

apart from adults.<br />

If a child has been<br />

removed from home, the<br />

designated social worker<br />

must work with the child<br />

<strong>and</strong> the family to restore<br />

the family relationship<br />

so that the child may<br />

ultimately be returned to<br />

provide counselling to the<br />

Section 30 of the<br />

the minister of social<br />

development must<br />

prescribe aftercare <strong>and</strong><br />

reintegration <strong>services</strong><br />

aimed at the successful<br />

reintegration of a service<br />

user into society, the<br />

work<strong>for</strong>ce <strong>and</strong> the family<br />

<strong>and</strong> community.<br />

youth, older persons <strong>and</strong><br />

community members<br />

who have been addicted<br />

to a dependenceproducing<br />

substance<br />

Aftercare <strong>and</strong><br />

reintegration <strong>services</strong><br />

DoSD, other organs of<br />

state or NGOs.<br />

Support groups may<br />

be established at<br />

community level by<br />

professionals, NGOs,<br />

or a group of service<br />

users or persons<br />

affected by substance<br />

abuse (s31(3)).<br />
