<strong>for</strong> teachers on how<br />

to support orphans<br />

<strong>and</strong> other children in<br />

distress (s2.2.8.2).<br />

Children that are<br />

orphaned, victims of<br />

child labour or in childheaded<br />

households<br />

Section 10 of the<br />

Children’s Act requires<br />

teachers (as well as<br />

other officials such as<br />

doctors, etc.) to report<br />

any children that they<br />

suspect are victims of<br />

child labour, orphaned,<br />

or living in a childheaded<br />

household<br />

to a designated child<br />

protection agency, the<br />

provincial DoSD or a<br />

police official.<br />
