states to develop regulations to facilitate access<br />

for non-commercial research purposes. In fact, however,<br />

the Nagoya Protocol has led to an increase in obstacles<br />

in many countries – in some countries export of scientific<br />

biological material has become impossible. Indonesia<br />

pays special attention to non-commercial research and<br />

intends to develop regulations for facilitated access. After<br />

the Nagoyoa Protocol has been enforced in Indonesia,<br />

the government intends to implement further regulations.<br />

The Ministry of Environment, coordinating the<br />

legal drafting process, has invited universities in Indonesia<br />

to participate in developing these regulations. On<br />

July 18, 2013 IPB hosted a discussion forum for fostering<br />

research facing the Nagoya Protocol.<br />
