4.1.2.3 Eco Labeling and Certification<br />
In order to ensure the appropriate printers and toners sustainable procurement,<br />
the following labels and/or certifications must be endorsed.<br />
a. Energy Star<br />
Earning the ENERGY STAR means products meet strict energy<br />
efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection<br />
Agency. Products that have earned the ENERGY STAR deliver<br />
exceptional features, while using less energy. Saving energy helps<br />
save money on utility bills and protects the environment by<br />
reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the fight against climate<br />
change.<br />
b. ISO 14000<br />
The ISO 14000 family addresses various aspects of environmental<br />
management systems. It identifies and controls the environmental<br />
impact of activities; improve the environmental performance<br />
continually; and implement a systematic approach to setting<br />
environmental objectives and targets.<br />
