<strong>NEDSS</strong> Phase II, Deliverables 1 and 2<br />

• In the configuration management processes, specify change control procedures and the<br />

formation and use of a change control board.<br />

• In the processes for requirements management, include traceability, prototyping and<br />

modeling, impact analysis and reviews.<br />

With project management as it pertains to Quality Control, the following key areas will be<br />

defined:<br />

• Specify the processes to be used to measure and control the quality of the work and the<br />

resulting work products<br />

• Specify the use of quality control processes such as quality assurance of conformance to<br />

work processes, verification and validation, joint reviews, audits and process assessment.<br />

Risk Management Plan<br />

As with Project tracking, Risk Management can only be outlined at a high level until further<br />

details on the <strong>NEDSS</strong> Base <strong>System</strong> arrive. The following topics summarize the steps needed<br />

to create an adequate plan:<br />

• Specify the risk management plan for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing project risk<br />

factors.<br />

• Specify plans for assessing initial risk factors and for the ongoing identification,<br />

assessment, and mitigation of risk factors throughout the life cycle of the project.<br />

• Describe the following:<br />

o Procedures for contingency planning,<br />

o Procedures for tracking the various risk factors,<br />

o Risk management work activities,<br />

o Procedures and schedules for performing risk management work activities,<br />

o Risk documentation and reporting requirements,<br />

o Organizations and personnel responsible or performing specific risk management<br />

activities, and<br />

o Procedures for communicating risks and risk status among the various customer,<br />

project and subcontractor organizations.<br />
