This scholarship is available on a competitive basis to those students who qualify academically, are pursuing a
health-related field of study, and have been and continue to be residents for a minimum of two years of one of
the nine Seacoast communities in the foundation’s service area (Portsmouth, Newington, New Castle,
Greenland, Rye and No. Hampton, New Hampshire; and Kittery, Eliot and York, Maine). Awards are based
primarily on academic achievement and potential as demonstrated by test scores, rank in class or grade point
averages, difficulty of course selection, and commitment to the field of health. Financial need is not a
consideration.

Who is eligible to apply? High school graduate from a Southern Maine County (York, Cumberland, Oxford and
Androscoggin) entering a nursing program.
Scholarship amount: $200
How are the scholarships awarded? Each applicant shall submit a personal letter of application, a letter from
the principal of the high school from which she or he is graduating, and a letter from a representative citizen in
her or his community attesting to the applicant's character, Americanism, leadership, and basis of need.
Application process: Applications are available from high school guidance offices at the beginning of February.
When can I apply for this scholarship? Senior year of high school, beginning in February.
What is the application deadline? Completed application must be received by June 5 of the award year.

of attending post secondary education for students interested in pursuing a course of study in a field that focuses
