Up to 50 percent of the scholarships will be targeted to students who, in addition to demonstrating financial need, are members of an ethnic-minority** group or are physically disabled. We will renew these scholarships until students complete their degrees or until the total amount awarded each student reaches $6,000, whichever comes first, as long as the student remains continuously enrolled and maintains a 2.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. ** Ethnic minority groups are defined as follows: Alaskan Native, American Indian, Black/African- American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Asian and Hispanic or Latino. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the U.S. JCI Senate Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study.
