Up to 50 percent of the scholarships will be targeted to students who, in addition to demonstrating financial
need, are members of an ethnic-minority** group or are physically disabled. We will renew these scholarships
until students complete their degrees or until the total amount awarded each student reaches $6,000, whichever
comes first, as long as the student remains continuously enrolled and maintains a 2.5 grade-point average on a
4.0 scale. ** Ethnic minority groups are defined as follows: Alaskan Native, American Indian, Black/African-
American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Asian and Hispanic or Latino.
Apply on line between December 15, 2006 and February 15, 2007.
Applicants from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and all U.S.
Territories and Commonwealths are eligible for the program.

Each year, the U.S. JCI Senate Foundation grants $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the
United States who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or
vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the U.S. JCI Senate
Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study.
From September to November of each year, each JCI Senate state organization distributes to schools and
boards of education throughout their state the necessary application forms for determination of the recipients of
scholarship grants. The completed application forms are returned to the JCI Senate state chairperson on or about
January 31, of each year.
Pease note that it is the individual state JCI Senate organizations that distribute, collect, and arrange for judging
