<strong>The</strong> principal focus <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scholarships is rants for undergraduate or graduate study at accredited colleges or<br />

universities. Scholarships may only be applied <strong>to</strong> study at an accredited institution based in <strong>the</strong> United States.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Fund seeks candidates who are "motivated by spiritual values," and works <strong>to</strong> foster fellowship among <strong>the</strong>m.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Fund is a small, based in New York City, which awards yearly grants and works <strong>to</strong> foster fellowship among<br />

grant recipients. Applications accepted once a year for grants, which include essays, transcripts and<br />

recommendations. From <strong>the</strong>se written applications, <strong>the</strong> Fund identifies a group <strong>of</strong> finalists <strong>to</strong> be invited for a<br />

brief personal interview. On <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> this interview, <strong>the</strong> Fund typically selects about 20 new scholarship<br />

recipients each year.<br />

Eligibility: Roothbert Fund <strong>scholarships</strong> are open <strong>to</strong> all in <strong>the</strong> United States regardless <strong>of</strong> sex, age, color,<br />

nationality or religious background. While <strong>the</strong> Fund does not emphasize any particular form <strong>of</strong> religious<br />

practice or worship, it seeks <strong>to</strong> provide support <strong>to</strong> persons motivated by spiritual values. <strong>The</strong> Fund has awarded<br />

grants <strong>to</strong> persons entering a wide range <strong>of</strong> careers. However, preference will be given <strong>to</strong> those who can satisfy<br />

high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education. For more information, applicants should<br />

read with care <strong>the</strong> Founders Prologue in <strong>the</strong> His<strong>to</strong>ry and Mission <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fund.<br />

Obtaining an application: Because <strong>of</strong> its staff limitations, <strong>the</strong> Fund designates a three-month period from<br />

November 1 <strong>to</strong> January 31 each year in which printed applications forms are made available. Because forms are<br />

revised each year, applicants are discouraged from copying forms that may be on file with financial aid <strong>of</strong>fices,<br />

or <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> saved from prior years.<br />

Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled full-time in good standing at any accredited, four-year degreegranting<br />

institution in <strong>the</strong> United States or its terri<strong>to</strong>ries. Applicants may apply for a Ronald Reagan Future<br />

Leaders Program grant during <strong>the</strong>ir sophomore year. Winners will receive <strong>the</strong> grant for <strong>the</strong>ir junior year and<br />

may apply for renewal before <strong>the</strong>ir senior year.<br />

<strong>The</strong> foundation expects <strong>to</strong> award <strong>scholarships</strong> in amounts <strong>of</strong> $10,000, $7,500, $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000.<br />

• R.O.S.E. (Regaining One's Self-Esteem) Fund (Women Only)<br />

This scholarship is primarily awarded <strong>to</strong> women that <strong>have</strong> successfully completed one full year <strong>of</strong><br />

undergraduate studies. Scholarships are for tuition and expenses at any accredited college/university in New<br />

England.<br />

<strong>The</strong> R.O.S.E. Fund's mission is <strong>to</strong> help women and <strong>the</strong>ir children break <strong>the</strong> cycle <strong>of</strong> domestic violence. Aligned<br />

with that mission, <strong>the</strong> R.O.S.E. Scholarship Program was created in 1998 <strong>to</strong> provide individuals with <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>ols
