<strong>The</strong> Scholarship was announced in recognition <strong>of</strong> Black His<strong>to</strong>ry Month and will support twelve deserving<br />

African-American students in pursuing <strong>the</strong>ir educational goals. <strong>The</strong>se merit- and need-based scholarship grants<br />

will be awarded <strong>to</strong> eligible college freshmen or sophomores or high school seniors who are planning <strong>to</strong> attend a<br />

New England college/university.<br />

Deadline for <strong>the</strong> 2006/2007 academic year was May 5, 2006 – see above website for 2007/2008 deadlines.<br />

• NEDMA – New England Direct Marketing Association Scholarship<br />

NEDMA Foundation’s Direct Marketing Scholarship is designed for a marketing, advertising, or<br />

communications student who will <strong>have</strong> completed his or her sophomore or junior year by June 2006 and who is<br />

seriously interested in a career in direct marketing. This opportunity consists <strong>of</strong> four parts: (1) $2,000 <strong>to</strong> be<br />

applied <strong>to</strong> college tuition, (2) attendance at a nationally-sponsored seminar during <strong>the</strong> summer (3) A paid<br />

Summer Internship. You’ll get hands-on direct marketing experience at an agency, client, printer, list company,<br />

or production company. You’ll see how direct marketing is practiced in <strong>the</strong> real world, plus you’ll gain valuable<br />

networking contacts for your future job search. Application Deadline Monday, February 10, 2006.<br />
