Eligibility.
Children and spouses of members of the Non Commissioned Officers Association. Awards not
limited by race, color, creed, national origin or sex. For undergraduate study at accredited
colleges and universities. Children of members must be under age 25 to receive initial grant.
Grants to the designated school may be used for room and board, tuition, library fees, textbooks
and related instructional material. 16 new awards annually.

The US Army can assist students as they face the task of trying to pa off their loans. If students
borrowed through the Federal Perkins Loan, the Federal Stafford Loan or other qualifying
federally issued student loan, the Loan Repayment Program can eliminate the majority of their
debt within 4-8 years after graduation. For a student who enlists in the Regular Army, each year
of active duty reduces college indebtedness by one-third or $1,500 which ever is greater, up to a
maximum of $65,000. For an Army Reservist, each year served eliminates 15 percent of the
outstanding loans or $500, whichever is greater, up to a maximum of $20,000.
College students usually join the Army at a higher rant and higher pay grade. Educational level
typically qualified college students for more sophisticated Army specialties. Leadership
opportunities can open up more quickly for someone who enters the service with a higher
education level. Finally, when active duty is completed, college students can be debt free and
include a meaningful experience that employers value on their job resume.

o U.S. Submarine Veterans of WWII Scholarship Program

Purpose: Scholarships available to children/stepchildren (not grandchildren) of paid-up, regular
members of U.S. SUBVETS of WW II. Awards are only for undergraduate studies. Applicant
may receive no more than 4 years of assistance. Applicant must be unmarried, under the age of
24.
Qualification: Applicant must be: age 23 or younger , single, full-time student. High school
students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to members of the
following branches of the military: Navy.
