<strong>The</strong> original objective <strong>of</strong> "taking care <strong>of</strong> our own" meant that <strong>scholarships</strong> were limited <strong>to</strong><br />

dependent children <strong>of</strong> KIA/MIA/POW US aircrews lost while serving in Sou<strong>the</strong>ast Asia during<br />

<strong>the</strong> Vietnam War. Since <strong>the</strong>n our eligibility criteria has expanded, which now allows us <strong>to</strong> award<br />

grants in <strong>the</strong> <strong>following</strong> three categories:<br />

<strong>The</strong> immediate dependents (spouse and children— natural or adopted) <strong>of</strong> any member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> US<br />

Armed Forces listed in KIA or MIA status resulting from any combat activity involving our<br />

military since August, 1964, including those lost in <strong>the</strong> World Trade Center and Pentagon events<br />

<strong>of</strong> 9/11/01; <strong>the</strong> immediate dependents (spouse and children— natural or adopted) <strong>of</strong> military<br />

aircrew members killed while performing aircrew duties on a non-combat mission; <strong>the</strong><br />

immediate dependents (spouse and children— natural or adopted) <strong>of</strong> current and deceased<br />

RRVA-members. If deceased, <strong>the</strong> RRVA member must <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> in good standing at <strong>the</strong> time<br />

<strong>of</strong> death.<br />

Requirements:<br />

Scholarship/grant open <strong>to</strong> high school seniors or college students what are direct descendents <strong>of</strong><br />

37 th Infantry Division veterans who served in WWI, II, or <strong>the</strong> Korean conflict. Financial need is<br />

a consideration particularly is <strong>the</strong> fa<strong>the</strong>r is deceased. Two <strong>scholarships</strong> per year.<br />
