Requirements:<br />

Open <strong>to</strong> unmarried dependent children <strong>of</strong> active, retired, or deceased members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> US Army.<br />

Applicants may not <strong>have</strong> reached <strong>the</strong>ir 22 nd birthday before June 1 st <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> school year that begins<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>following</strong> September. For undergraduate study. Must submit financial form and <strong>of</strong>ficial high<br />

school transcript.<br />

Applicant for <strong>the</strong> DUSA Scholarships must be a daughter or granddaughter only (including step<br />

or adopted) <strong>of</strong> a career warrant (WO 1-5) or commissioned (2nd & 1st LT, CPT, MAJ, LTC,<br />

COL and BG, MG, LTG or full General) <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> U.S. Army who:<br />

1. is currently on active duty or;<br />

2. retired from active duty after at least 20 years service or;<br />

3. was medically retired before 20 years <strong>of</strong> active service or;<br />

4. died while on active duty or;<br />

5. died after retiring from active duty with 20 or more years <strong>of</strong> service. U.S. Army must <strong>have</strong><br />

<strong>been</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficer's primary occupation.<br />

Eligibility: Students who are lineal descendants <strong>of</strong> a Union veteran <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Civil War. <strong>The</strong><br />

scholarship is given in August <strong>to</strong> a Junior or Senior in a college or university who has<br />

satisfac<strong>to</strong>ry scholastic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA), a good moral character and a firm belief in<br />

our form <strong>of</strong> government. Applications are only given after completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Freshman College<br />

year.<br />

Navy Submariners and Navy members who <strong>have</strong> served in submarine support activities.<br />

Availability: High School graduates and College Students<br />

Eligibility: Children/Stepchildren <strong>of</strong> members or former members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Submarine Force who<br />

meet one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>following</strong> requirements:<br />

• sponsor qualified in submarines and served on active duty in <strong>the</strong> Submarine<br />

Force for at least 8 years.<br />

• sponsor served on active duty in submarine support activities for a minimum<br />

<strong>of</strong> 10 years.<br />

• sponsor died on active duty while in <strong>the</strong> Submarine Force.<br />
