<strong>The</strong>re are three requirements for applicants:<br />

o <strong>The</strong> applicant must currently be a resident <strong>of</strong> a participating American Mensa local group's area.<br />

o <strong>The</strong> applicant must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution <strong>of</strong> higher learning<br />

during <strong>the</strong> academic year <strong>following</strong> <strong>the</strong> application date.<br />

<strong>The</strong> applicant must submit an application and essay <strong>of</strong> not more than 550 words explaining <strong>the</strong>ir academic<br />

and/or vocational goals.<br />

o Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation <strong>of</strong> Wakefield, Inc. Scholarships<br />

Requirements:<br />

For full-time students (undergrads, graduates, voc-tech, continuing ed, etc.) who are residents <strong>of</strong><br />

Wakefield, Massachusetts. Must demonstrate financial need.<br />

o Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund<br />

Eligibility:<br />

Applicants must <strong>have</strong> completed at least two years service <strong>to</strong> golf as caddies or helpers in <strong>the</strong> pro<br />

shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts.<br />

To be eligible for a Massachusetts Public Service Grant, at student must:<br />

• Be a permanent legal resident <strong>of</strong> Massachusetts for one year prior <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> start <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

academic year for which <strong>the</strong> scholarship is granted.<br />

• Be a United States citizen or eligible non citizen.<br />

• Be enrolled full time (at least 12 credits or its equivalent) in an eligible institution.<br />

• Not <strong>have</strong> received a prior bachelors degree or its equivalent.<br />

• Be in compliance with Selective Service Registration Requirements.<br />

• Maintain satisfac<strong>to</strong>ry academic progress in accordance with institutional and Federal<br />

standards.<br />

• Be able <strong>to</strong> provide <strong>the</strong> necessary documentation <strong>to</strong> evidence one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>following</strong><br />

conditions:<br />

o Child or widowed spouse <strong>of</strong> a Massachusetts Police Officer, Firefighter or<br />

Corrections Officer who was killed or died from injuries received while<br />

performing his or her duties. This shall also include authorized training<br />

duty.<br />

o Child <strong>of</strong> a Prisoner <strong>of</strong> War Military Service Person Missing in Action in<br />

Sou<strong>the</strong>ast Asia whose war time service was credited <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>
