LAANE, Learning Assistance Association of New England, was organized in 1983 and is an affiliate of the National Association of
Developmental Education (NADE). At this year’s Fall 2006 Conference, LAANE will, for the first time, offer a $750 student
scholarship.
The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who, at the time of application:
Is admitted to a bachelor's or associate's degree program.
Was admitted to and/or has completed at least 8 credits of developmental coursework (LAC020, LAC021, LAC022, Writing
Tutorial)
Has earned at least 24 credits.
Has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.
Will be a continuing student (graduating students are ineligible to apply).
The student must provide:
An official transcript
Evidence of enrollment in coursework at the home institution for the semester following the awarding of the scholarship
A letter of recommendation from course instructor or academic advisor
An essay addressing one of several writing prompts related to the role of developmental education

• Leopold Schepp Foundation Undergraduate Awards

The Foundation grants approximately 200 individual awards each year to both full time undergraduate students
enrolled in four year bachelor programs and to full time graduate students. Applicants must either be currently
enrolled or must have completed one year of undergraduate work at an accredited college or university. High
school seniors are not eligible to apply.
• LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF)
Run completely at the local, grassroots level, the LNSF is coordinated nationally by LNESC. We bring together
local fund raising efforts with corporate partners to provide over $750,000.00 in scholarships to all levels of
degree seeking students each year.

Under no circumstances should applications for the LNSF be mailed to the national office. Only students
in areas with participating councils are eligible to apply. Please send your application to the council in
your area.

This scholarship is for Dependent Children of Army Soldiers, and is administered by the Army Emergency
Relief. The AER is a private non-profit organization with the primary mission of providing financial assistance
to Army Soldiers and their dependent in time of valid emergency need.
Scholarship Program Eligibility: - Applicants must be:
• Dependent children, stepchildren or legally adopted children of Army soldiers on active duty, retired or
deceased while on a active duty or after retirement.
• The children of Grey Area Reservists are also eligible.
• Unmarried for the entire academic year.
