The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announces program guidelines for the 2006 competition
cycle of the DHS Scholarship and Fellowship Program.
For students interested in pursuing the science and technology necessary to lead the unified national effort to
secure America. Areas of study include: Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Computer Sciences and
Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, selected Humanities and engineering.
Funding available for Fall 2006
Full Tuition and monthly stipend provided
U.S. citizenship required
Application deadline January 31, 2006

The 2006 competition cycle will provide financial support beginning in fall 2006 for approximately 100
Scholars and Fellows. All applicants are expected to apply using the online application. The deadline for
submitting an application is January 31, 2006, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The scholarship program is intended to provide financial assistance to further educational objectives of women
who are U.S. citizens either employed or planning careers in defense or national security areas. (This is not law
enforcement or criminal justice.)
Deadline: Completed applications, essays, recommendations, and transcripts must be received no later than
November 1st if applying for assistance for the following Spring semester, no later than July 1st if applying for
assistance for the following Fall semester.
